Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is setting out to be one of the most successful new IP of the current generation, selling a high number of copies in just a few months. Kadokawa, parent company of FromSoftware, has confirmed that the samurai action title sold around 3.8 million copies as of June 30, 2019 just over three months on the market. The game was already well on it’s way to passing the Dark Souls 2 series for sales, racking up two million sales just 10 days after release and more than 100,000 of those were sold in its first 24 hours.

Sekiro had a strong debut, hitting the second-best selling game of March in the US NPDs despite only being out for about a week. It maintained steady sales afterwards, appearing in both April and May charts.
