Warner Bros, Rocksteady and leaks are no strangers. Last week, a leaked document surfaced on the internet detailing a project that hinted at a Destiny-like live-service game set in the DC Universe. The leak mentioned reveal trailers for specific characters and locations featured throughout the game and specifically points towards playable versions of Gotham and Star City, with Arrow and Ra’s Al Ghul being the characters cited. The game will be online/multiplayer but there will also be ‘multiple storylines’ and paths to follow and will focus on teamwork, customization options, combat, superpowers, and loot.
Solidifying the validity of the leak is this teaser image for a game called ‘Outlaws’, which is apparently set to go live on WB social media channels within the next couple of days, followed by a ‘world premiere’ trailer on Friday the 26th of April.
As you can see from the image, it depicts a riverfront view of Gotham City and in particular, the Wayne Enterprises building. Moreover, there are copyright logos for DC Comics at the bottom as well as one for Epic Games, hinting that the game will be using Unreal Engine and will probably be an Epic Games Store release for the PC.
Is this the long-rumored DC game Rocksteady has been working on or is this from another studio? Whatever the case may be, I think we will get a definite answer this week. As always, we’ll keep you updated.
