Some time ago, we posted about Reddit user DasVergeben detailing insider info about some upcoming projects for Nintendo’s hybrid system (in addition to other platforms as well). And now that there’s rumblings of a Nintendo Direct to be hosted on January 11, he’s back with some more info about upcoming games (some of which have been reiterated on from the previous rumor post). Of course, none of these are official details so be vary and treat them with a pinch of salt.
- Metroid Prime 4 will be present at this month’s Direct and is indeed being developed by Bandai Namco.
- New Animal Crossing in development, set for a Q3 release next year. It will be revealed at the Direct.
- Pokemon Gen 8 could release this year and may be present at the Direct.
- Mother 3 is ready to be released, could be next year.
- Fire Emblem 16 set for Q2/Q3 release, could even be out in May.
- 3DS to get a new Wario game and a remake of Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.
Third party ports for Switch include:
- GTA V (Q3 release, present at the Direct); Rockstar is also working on something besides that for Switch. May be a Red Dead Redemption port.
- Killing Floor 2 (no release date yet).
- Hearthstone
- Injustice 2
- In addition to a brand new Switch exclusive, Ace Attorney game, it will also get two remaster bundles, one of which includes the first three games: Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice For All and Trails And Tribulations; the second one features: Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies and Spirit Of Justice.
- Wonderful 101 (likely a port of the Wii U original).
- NieR Automata (only in the talks as of now as Nintendo is keen to have it on Switch; seems like they’ll need to wait before Sony’s console exclusive contract expires).
- Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Elusive Age (Switch debut reveal at the Direct).
- Dragon Ball Fighter Z (Q3/Q4 2018).
- Dark Souls Remaster.
- Next year’s Call Of Duty (will feature HD Rumble).
- Undertale (will be announced at the Direct).
- Fortnite (from Epic Games).
- Hello Neighbor (also coming to PS4); publisher tinyBuild will also be bringing over some of their older games to the Switch.
What do you make of this? Again, do remember to take this lightly before any official announcements are made.
