Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games’ newly debuted upcoming title, Control, is a third-person action-adventure game. It was announced during Sony’s E3 2018 press conference where a reveal trailer was shown.
The game will put players into the perspective of Jesse Faden, who becomes the new Director of the “Bureau of Control” – the “frontline in researching and fighting against supernatural enemies like the Hiss“. Players will unwrap the secret activities of the Bureau agents and explore its headquarters, The Oldest House. The players must have to defeat Hiss and “solve puzzles and complete quests to discover the secret of Jesse’s past and the true purpose of the Bureau of Control”.
Additionally, Remedy also showed a new gameplay demo during Sony’s PlayStation Live From E3 interview, which can be viewed below:
The gameplay demo shows Jesse using the “Service Weapon”, a transforming gun which can only be used by the Director of Bureau. She has supernatural abilities that look a lot like the time-bending mechanics we saw in the studio’s last game, Quantum Break. The game’s manipulative and reactive environment can be used as a shield or against the enemies.
The devs also revealed that the game’s “definitely not [an] open-world” and is much more like an open-ended sandbox game.
Control is scheduled to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2019.
