Battle royale has become a necessity rather than a separate genre in the current gaming industry. Owing to the mass popularity of games like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown Battlegrounds, more and more developers are looking to incorporate a battle royale mode in their game, in attempts to attract and appease a larger audience. One more addition to the list of games with Battle Royale mode this year is Red Dead Redemption 2, atleast according to rumors.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s Battle Royale mode was rumored since quite sometime, but there was no concrete evidence regarding the same. While leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt, this recent leak form Twitter user illogicalmods reveals that the game is all set to get a Battle Royale mode along with a number of game modes in the near future. Named as Make It Count, it is a 32-player Red Dead Online mode where you fight to be the last one standing, using weapons to survive in a shrinking circle. Roots of the Battle Royale genre, to be precise.

Apart from the Battle royale mode, the user also leaks a number of campaign-styled missions as well where you get to play as a new character and visit places from RDR. While there is not much evidence to support this leak as well, this still sounds legit given the fact that the Battle Royale mode was leaked in the earlier half of the year by Trusted Reviews, to which Rockstar threatened to take legal action against, and finally settled for a a £1m settlement fee to charities of Rockstar’s choice.

While we wait for more information on the battle royale mode, you can try out Red Dead Online Beta which is all set to open on 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th for Ultimate edition owners, players who played on launch day, players who played during launch weekend, and everyone who owns RDR2, respectively.
