The Year 5 Season 4 update Neon Dawn of Rainbow Six Siege has arrived! With this new patch, Ubisoft introduces a new defender to the roster – Thai operator Aruni. Equipped with the Surya Gate, a device that zaps drones and destroys projectiles, she is bound to get the Attackers in a frenzy! She can also use gadgets such as proximity alarms and barbed wire to slow down any effective attack strategy.

The new update Neon Dawn, although sizeable, will make the game build smaller across all platforms! It will also reduce loading time for players. There is a host of bug fixes to gameplay, maps and user experience too for Rainbow Six Siege.

Apart from the new defender there are some exciting changes to the game – the Skyscraper map has been reworked to balance gameplay and provide efficient navigation routes. To stop Attackers from camping, some entryways have been closed and a part of the balcony has been removed.

According to the pre-season designer notes, the development team has been listening keenly to the pro and community feedback. Ubisoft has worked on balancing the heavy-utility meta. Defender Jäger’s Active Defense System now has a cooldown of 10 seconds after a successful projectile interception and Echo’s Yokai drone will now remain visible when placed on ceilings. Hibana’s X-Kairos Launcher can now be configured to shoot 2, 4, or 6 pellets as per the player’s choice. There also has been significant improvements to the runout timers, defuser planting detection, gadget on gadget interactions and chat accessibility. The unlock prices of the previous operators have also been decreased.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will also be getting a fresh coat of paint thanks to next-gen consoles! If you play on current-gen consoles, you will be able to upgrade your game at no extra cost when transitioning to either the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5. With the help of the new Ubisoft Connect ecosystem, you will be able to enjoy cross-progression and cross-play.
