Prey is personally one of my most anticipated games this year, but I am highly cautious after the mess of a port which Dishonored 2 was. The System Requirements of Prey were revealed today and here they are:

Minimum:

  • CPU: Intel i5-2400, AMD FX-8320
  • GPU: GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7850 2GB
  • Memory: 8 GB

Now these requirements have been pretty standard for the majority of the gen, and there are really no surprises, which is also true or the Recommended system requirements below. An i5-2400 means that any modern i3 like an i3-6100 would run the game just fine, and if you are really low on hardware juice, I think a processor like an i3-2100 might just be serviceable. As for the RAM, 8 GBs is standard. Coming to the part which most of the PC gamers are mostly concerned about, the GPU, I think that any card with a DDR5 type RAM and support for DX 11 should run the game just fine. There is one silver lining though, if GTX 660 is the requirement for 720p (Since the resolution is not mentioned and For Honor had the requirements for 720p), older cards might struggle at 720p.

Recommended:

  • CPU: Intel i7-2600K, AMD FX-8350
  • GPU: GTX 970 4GB, AMD R9 290 4GB
  • Memory: 16 GB

For the recommended requirements, again pretty standard stuff. An i7-2600k means that any overclocked i5 from a later generation would run the game just for. A GPU like a GTX 1060 or RX 480 should be more than enough for running the game on the recommended settings.

The system requirements do not seem very hefty when compared to other games this gen and fairly old hardware should be able to run it. It is surprising that there is no mention of storage and the Windows version which obviously would be Windows 7+, but still. Anyways, what do you guys think about the requirements, let us know in the comments below.
