Patch 2.03 is around the corner and we have some interesting changes to the current arsenal of the famous 5v5 shooter Valorant. These changes are mainly regarding the range of stinger and the price of frenzy.
Valorant Game Designer Nicholas Wu Smith has recently told us in his streams about the upcoming changes in the next Patch 2.03. He mentioned the increase in the price of frenzy from 400 to 500 points. This will restrict players from purchasing the small shield with the frenzy except, of course, if it’s dropped by a teammate. Another point Nicholas mentioned was the balancing to the range of the Stinger. Stinger is the weapon of choice for many aggressive players. However, this weapon still manages to pack a punch in range fights as well. Therefore, causing a lot of problems for rifle users while picking up a fight with this low-cost SMG. We are yet to see how accurately this weapon will be balanced, but we expect a nerf in the long-range damage.
Additional changes in the upcoming patch include severe penalties for AFK players. Valorant devs have acknowledged how painful it is when teammates leave the match which results in a loss. Hence, the devs have mentioned that AFKing will result in a severe MMR drop, even more than the current cap. More relaxation in the lower rank brackets while queuing will be given during rank games. This allows players and friends to queue together without having to fear being queued with and the rewards based on your highest rank achieved will be given at the end of the ACT.
