At this point I’m not really surprised to see that Overkill delayed its long-in-the-making upcoming first-person co-op shooter game, Overkill’s The Walking Dead, which is, as the name suggests, set in the world of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comics.

The game was officially announced in 2014 and was originally planned for a 2016 release window. Of course, that wasn’t happened. In early 2016, it was delayed to second half of 2017, which the developers explained was because of the plans to launch the game simultaneously in Asian markets. It was again pushed back to the second half of 2018.

And now Starbreeze Studios delayed the console version of the game to February 2019, the PC version, however, is still scheduled for November 6 release date.

Here’s the full statement from Starbreeze Studios:

505 Games, which owns the publishing rights to the console version of Overkill’s The Walking Dead , has decided to release the console version of the game in February instead of November, as previously planned. They have opted to do this because they want to ensure a simultaneous release of the console version digitally and in stores to achieve optimal marketing impact and maximize sales. The important global release of the PC version is planned for 6 November. Notably, according to the current plan we will be recognizing the advance royalty of USD $10 million we have received from 505 Games for the console version in the fourth quarter of this year.
