Saitbot Studios‘ promising oldschool FPS offering Hellbound has been successfully funded on Kickstarter. Hellbound has reached its initial crowdfunding goal of $40,000 on the last day of its campaign. This came came in the form of a last minute push which added an extra $5,000 to the already funded $35,000.
The developers Saibot Studios will use this funds to further the development of the currently available Survival Mode– a wave based arena shooter, as well as create the first level of the single-player campaign. This will then be used as a demo to get a thumbs up from a publisher. If it had met the stretch goal of $100,000, then the single player campaign would have been independently published.
Hellbound is a throwback to hardcore oldschool fps of the 90’s and the early 2000’s such as Doom, Quake, Blood, Painkiller and Serious Sam. Platforms have not yet been announced, but the survival mode is currently available on Steam for free. Saibot studios are planning to release the fully developed version by May 2019.
