Rumors have started to speculate that Obsidian Entertainment will showcase their next AAA RPG at the Xbox Games Showcase scheduled on July 23. It is touted to be a multi-platform open world RPG being developed on the Unreal Engine 4. It boasts of a day and night cycle, first person melee and ranged combat gameplay, branching dialogue, and puzzle elements. Will this finally be the answer to Bethesda’s Skyrim or CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3?

Reddit sleuths also found out interesting artwork by artist Craig Matchett who worked in Obsidian from 2017-2018. Are these our first glimpses into this epic RPG?
The studio consisting of 200 employees, is currently working on three projects parallelly. The other two are The Outer Worlds DLC and the smaller multiplayer survival adventure game called Grounded. Microsoft had acquired Obsidian back in November 2018, along with InXile Entertainment.
