Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has a nasty bug involving crashing and/or freezing issue upon entering the ‘Arena Sub-level’ area. This specific bug has chosen to remain elusive to the developers and Obsidian is asking the help of players to help squash this bug.

The bug has been in the game for some time now, because replicating the problem seems to be virtually impossible for the developers at this moment.

Since the developers cannot replicate said bug, the solution they’ve come up with is pretty awkward and surprising: for one of the players experiencing the issue to bring their own PC to the devs’ office.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that we need one of your rigs that is experiencing the issue to runs tests on for ourselves. Specifically, we are requesting that anyone who is nearby to our Irvine office to please physically bring in their computer so that we may have our programmers discern the direct cause of this crash.”

It’s pretty amazing to see this level of dedication in post-launch support, especially these days where a lot of games are seemingly abandoned after release.
