NVIDIA, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions today announced they are collaborating on the PC version of the Middle-earth: Shadow of War video game.

The PC version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War will feature NVIDIA Ansel, NVIDIA’s in-game photography tool. NVIDIA is also working with Monolith on other advanced PC features such as high dynamic range (HDR) lighting, which creates a wider range of color and brightness, making the game more lifelike and immersive.

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action RPG that continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Players will be engrossed in a richer, more personal and expansive world full of epic heroes and villains, iconic locations, original enemy types, more personalities and a new cast of characters with untold stories, all brought to life by the award-winning Nemesis System.

NVIDIA’s team of visual effects engineers has worked closely with Monolith in the development of Middle-earth: Shadow of War, lending its expertise in the latest graphics technologies and putting NVIDIA’s vast development resources, which includes visual effects libraries, developer tools, research papers, source code sample and more, at Monolith’s disposal.
