Nintendo recently announced Super NES Classic Edition and god, look at the reactions from all around the social media. Its a hot conversation right now. But then there’s people who are still ranting about what happened to NES Classic Edition.

Well, Nintendo seemingly addresses to their fans about what happened with NES Classic Edition will not going to happen with Super NES Classic Edition.

In a statement given to GameSpot, Nintendo states that they are producing “significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition” than NES Classic Edition, though they don’t want to get into specifics.

Fhew! That’s a sigh of relief, isn’t it? Well, not really. Nintendo added that they’re only planning to “offer [SNES Classic Edition] this year” and “is currently planned to ship from Sept. 29 until the end of calendar year 2017,”. And, after that, they’ll discontinue the product just like NES before letting people buy it properly.

Nintendo clarifies that the company’s “long-term efforts are focused on” Switch games and continuing to maintain the 3DS. The SNES Classic Edition is for a “special recognition of the fans who show tremendous interest [in Nintendo’s] classic content”, reads a statement given to GameSpot.

As of now, Nintendo only announces the console and not actually shares details about when exactly it’ll be up for pre-order. Perhaps, they’ll first make sure about the required quantity in order to avoid shortage.

SNES Classic Edition will come with 21 games preloaded, I was thinking to get one but its games lineup doesn’t include Horizon Zero Dawn or Uncharted The Lost Legacy. So, maybe next time around.

Let us know what you think about the console’s release below in that lonesome comments section.

  1. “long-term efforts are focused on” Switch games…MY ASSS…. they are building demand by making it an exclusive item…so that people are built into a frenzy to buy one…..something like the One Plus One when it first came out.
