Dark Light

An insider has leaked the October 2016 version of the Switch SDK (software development kit) and is confirmed to be legitimate by several sources. This comes from GBAtemp which originally posted the details. Granted, its outdated, so users won’t really be able to do much with it as developing apps for the Switch would require a dev kit and the latest version of the SDK (neither of which can be obtained without explicit permission from the Big N themselves).

It does provide some valuable info which was unearthed just recently (this time on NeoGaf):

  1. Save data transfer coming in the future:

The details state: “In the future, we plan to provide a feature to transfer account save data among multiple consoles. As a result, there is the possibility that user accounts with uninitialized account save data will be added. Note that your design must work without issue, even in this case.”

2. Guest Login:

“We are considering a feature in the future (tentative name: Guest Login) to access existing network service account information without linking to a user account. This feature would allow temporary access to the network service account linked to the Nintendo Account by logging in to the Nintendo Account within the application. This feature would, for example, make it possible to upload a character you have raised as online data and then use that data on a friend’s NX (without creating a user account).

We do not plan to provide this feature for the NX launch.”

Sounds interesting, and especially since this is from an official SDK it has a good chance of being true; but still, it would be best to treat this as rumor for now.

  1. Virtual Console please!
It’s frustrating that I can get a ton of old games on my WiiU right now, but still have nothing on the Switch.
