Nintendo was the last of the “Big 3” publishers (Sony, Microsoft and themselves) to host their E3 stream and we can safely say that they’re the ones who caused the most excitement among gamers with some big announcements and reveals. So without further ado, let’s have a look at the games and their respective game trailers:
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2:
Sequel to the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, this game follows two new protagonists in search of a place know as “Elysium”.

2. Kirby (Working Title):
Another new adventure featuring the adorable, pink, fluffy mascot Kirby, this upcoming 2.5D platformer boasts brand new abilities for Kirby and 4 player co-op.
Release: 2018
3. Pokemon (Working Title):
While fans were disappointed that Ultra Sun & Moon were announced for the 3DS (and not Switch) in Nintendo’s previous Direct,The Pokemon Company’s head Tsunekazu Ishihara has confirmed that a new mainline Pokemon game is under development at GameFreak for the Switch and “may not release for more than a year”.
4. Yoshi (Working Title):
A brand new 2.5D Yoshi game is coming to the Switch, with a gorgeous cardboard aesthetic and beautiful lighting, material and blur effects thanks to Unreal Engine 4.

5. Metroid Prime 4:
Let’s be honest here, no one was expecting this in the slightest. This is the game that garnered the most attention and hype from all games shown at the E3 Spotlight. Directed by Metroid Prime series producer Kensuke Tanabe, it’s surprisingly being made by a “talented new development team” instead of Retro Studios (who made the other three Prime games).

6. Fire Emblem Warriors:
After Hyrule Warriors was met with acclaim on the Wii U and 3DS, Koei Tecmo has teamed up with Nintendo for another Warriors game, this time based on Nintendo’s Fire Emblem series of strategy RPGs. It features a huge roster of playable characters with charcters from previous FE games like Awakening, Shadow Dragon and Fates and will also be coming to the 3DS.

7. Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild DLC Packs:
New details about Breath Of The Wild’s Expansion Pass are here: DLC Pack 1 provides a new mode called Trial Of The Sword; clearing all 45 rooms of enemies will grant the Master Sword new power, enabling it to retain its charged up mode at all times. A new map feature, Hero’s Path Mode allows players to see the path they’ve traveled, where they’ve yet to explore and where they spent the most time. Hard Mode buffs up the challenge by making enemies in the overworld more powerful. Players can also find a secret chest in the world with a Travel Medallion inside, which they can drop anywhere to register their current location as a fast travel point. The pack also includes 8 new armor pieces (designed after previous Zelda games) that have unique abilities.
DLC Pack 2, called The Champions Ballad features a new story for players to play through. Nintendo will also release a new wave of amiibo figurines based on the Champions.
8. Rocket League:
Developer Psyonix’s hit soccer/driving hybrid game is finally making its way to the Switch and it will be getting exclusive customization items (like the Mario Bros’ hat), exclusive battle-cars and cross-play as well.

9. Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle:
Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot himself took to Nintendo’s Spotlight stream to announce this strategy RPG crossover between the Mario and Rabbids universes for the Switch. It features deep tactical gameplay and customization and emphasizes exploration and puzzle solving with a good dose of humor thrown in.

10. Super Mario Odyssey:
And finally, we arrive at the main focus of the E3 Spotlight: Super Mario Odyssey is a collect-a-thon in the vein of the revolutionary Super Mario 64. It consists of several large sandbox worlds with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore and a fresh new gameplay mechanic in the form of a magical hat that allows Mario to possess any creature or object, including Goombas, Bullet Bills, frogs, taxis and even a T-Rex. Yep, we are just as confused as you are.
