After Ubisoft’s teaser about a new Far Cry game last day, a cover image for the same seems to have leaked online which shows the name of the new game as Far Cry : New Dawn.
The game seems to have been set in the aftermath of the decimation caused by the nuke in Hope County in Montana at the end of Far Cry 5. The teaser shows someone picking up a blade and fitting it in a crossbow. The leaked cover seems to show the same crossbow, along with the background indicating a post-apocalyptic Montana.
The game is likely to be a standalone game,but not a major numbered sequel. Ubisoft has pulled off this strategy earlier with Far Cry 3 : Blood Dragon and Far Cry Primal, so a spin-off game like New Dawn isn’t exactly unexpected.
The leak was on the Far Cry subreddit by user HereComeDatAlt. It is always worthy to take rumors like these with a pinch of salt lest they turn out to be fake later, especially since it’s not from a trusted source.
The official announcement by Ubisoft is scheduled to coincide with the Game Awards today.
