Now we are entering the sort of ‘High range’ spec PCs and 80K is enough to give you great performance and even push higher resolutions like 2K, Widescreen or in some cases even 4K with decent frame rates. So without further ado let’s get into the build.

CPU- Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor


For the CPU I went with the i5-6600K, and while many might think that i7 would have been a better choice, not many games will require an i7 unless you are regularly going to game at 4K. Being a K series processor, it can be overclocked, and will give you an edge, if you face stuttering at it’s stock clocks, which I honestly don’t think will happen.

Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard


OK, this motherboard has all the basics that you would want in a ‘budget’ high end gaming PC- You get 4 DDR4 RAM slots supporting a maximum of 64 GB running at 2133 MHz, a good number of SATA ports. There is no SLi, but well you won’t be requiring it at such a budget anyways.

Note: This was excellently pointed out by redditor TheGenericName2, that there was no point in buying an overclockable CPU if the motherboard doesn’t support it, but then it was just breaking the budget limit, but well worth the mention if you have a higher budget (The beauty of PC gaming, flexibility). GPU- Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Mini Video Card


In a 25K budget for the graphic card, nothing beats this monster. Performing at the level of a GTX 980, this is probably the next GTX 970 and the best value for money card as well. Well I have listed the Zotac version, but if you wait for a couple of months, the same GPU will be available from different manufacturers like Asus and MSI. The prices will be similar, and it would be wise to wait and purchase, but this particluar version of Zotac is actually a pretty bang for the buck card, so I don’t think you could go wrong with any manufacturer in case of this card. (Yes I know the reviews aren’t great on Amazon and that’s why I suggested to wait for other manufacturers)

RAM- Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB DDR4-2133 Memory


For the RAM I went with the Kingston HyperX Fury Black, and dual sticks at that because it was simply the best value for money RAM I could find on the market. This single stick, running at a frequency of 2133 MHz makes it a steal for the price. The motherboard has 4 slots and supports a maximum of 64 GB which leaves lots of room for future RAM upgrades.

Storage- Variables


Here I decided to give people some options so as to optimize the PC for the users’ needs:

Option 1:


1 TB WD Caviar Blue 7200 RPM HDD with 120 GB Sandisk SSD

This option is for those people who value performance over storage, and for the users, who play only 1-2 games at a time and the OS (Depending on the size), it may be wise to get a SSD to increase performance and HDD can be used for game backups and other entertainment sources like movies, songs etc.



This is for those who want to maximize the storage options. Just get two WD Caviar Blues 1 TB each, will come for the same price approximately. I’m suggesting two because even though the failure or corruption of these HDDs are very low, it’ll be good that you don’t lose all your data at once.

Cabinet- Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case


The case looks good, it isn’t huge; air flows easily through the case; the top is flat; everything fits; the USB connectors are USB 3.0; it’s inexpensive; and it has a nice side panel window. It comes with 2 fans and a red LED, has a good build quality and hence my pick for the cabinet.

PSU- EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply


A good 600W supply ensures all the overclocking you want from this build, because, at stock this build takes about 350W which is far less from what this PSU is capable of. Also there is enough room for any future additions in terms of hardware.

Total Cost On Amazon: INR 76108

Just like the previous 60K build, these are Amazon prices and you can get the PC for a tad bit less if you are to buy from the local market. I’ve not included the LAN cards and the optical drives because;

i) WLAN cards are very cheap these days and any basic LAN card will do.

ii) Optical Drives are obsolete (And cheap as well). If you’ll be buying games from Steam there’s no point of a CD Drive. And anyways, these days with the release of humongous patches, you’ll be required to download GBs and GBs of data, for which Steam would be better and hence the point of an optical drive is almost none.

iii) Also we have not considered the cost of an OS, which retails for around 5-6K. Going strictly with PC parts, this build is done well within the budget. The corners you could cut would be the cabinet, but make sure that you get a well ventilated one.

This PC will give you a constant 60 FPS on 1080p on Ultra settings in all the games (Except unoptimized ones) and will be able to run many games on 2K with medium to high settings and decent FPS.
