2016 was a good year for Indie games and I am most certain that I have enjoyed more and more indie games in the past few years. Well, it’s not just me, but these kinds of lists make sure those who want interesting games to play are spoilt for choice. So here are a few games to look out for in the coming year.
1. Orange Cast
I am an RPG fanatic, and being a fan of Mass Effect as well as Sci-Fi themed fictional virtual/imaginatory worlds, this game immediately caught my attention. It is a game based in 21st century when humans have established them as force to be reckoned with. You are a mercenary from the Fellarian Galaxy – an isolated sector, which was supposed to become a symbol of the Humanity’s superiority, but now only represents its worst qualities.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVZqbejJguY]We don’t know much about the game because the information on the game is scant currently, but as far as the genre goes, it is a third person shooter with RPG elements. You can find all the information here.
2. Fictorium
Sandbox is another genre I like very much, be it Garry’s Mod or Just Cause 3, I love creating my own fun in games and Fictorium fits that category perfectly. Basically you are mage who weilds powerful magic and can combine various sorts of magic to cause more destructiion. The plot seems simple enough but the gameplay is the factor I am interested in this game.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI-RIP56E10]The world is sort of open, in which you can explore by clicking on specific parts of the map, something similar to what Mass Effect did. More info on the game can be found here.
3. Intelligent Design: An Evolution Sandbox
Intelligent Design is another sandbox (Damn… Too many sandboxes) or rather a God game where you can create species, adn once that is done, you just put your legs on the desk, take a sip of coffee/tea/(Insert preferred drink) and watch what you have unleashed onto the world. Not much can be said about the game without experiencing it first hand.

4. Pantropy
Another game from the Sandbox (Damn… Too many sandboxes) genre, it is something in between Ark: Ark Survival Evolved and Minecraft. A first person crafting survival MMOFPS game. It has the construction elements similar to Minecraft, but allows different types of constructions, and creatures which roam about in the open world (Not sure if they would have the taming mechanic of Ark), though the whole world is not destructible, only the constructed items are. The game is still in extremely early development, but has a demo which is available for anyone to play.

5. Super Red-Hot Hero
This is currently a Kickstarter project with a modest sum, of which more details can be found here. AS for the game itself, it is pretty much a 2D Side scrolling action platformer with some interesting mechanics.

So here were 5 games that we found interesting over the week. Next week we will be back by hopefully 5 more games that might appeal to you. Till then, let us know what you think about the list.
Loved the idea of an indie Sunday every week. Hope this continues….
