Rockstar Games has finally revealed how much players will need to pay to jump into Grand Theft Auto VI later this year.
According to the official GTA 6 website, pre-orders for the game will go live on June 25. Rockstar has also confirmed two launch editions, with the Standard Edition priced at $80 and the Ultimate Edition available for $100.
The price point makes GTA 6 one of the latest major releases to move beyond the traditional $70 standard that has dominated the current console generation. Given the scale of the project and the expectations surrounding it, many fans had already anticipated Rockstar would charge a premium for its next open-world blockbuster.
Alongside the pricing announcement, Rockstar has started teasing the contents of the Ultimate Edition.
The publisher describes it as an “exclusive collection of items threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story,” though a complete breakdown of the included content has not yet been revealed. For now, Rockstar is keeping the finer details under wraps, with more information expected closer to launch.
The announcement comes as GTA 6 enters the final months before release. Set across the state of Leonida, the game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, two protagonists drawn into the criminal underworld of Rockstar’s modern-day take on Vice City and the surrounding region.
With pre-orders opening this week, fans won’t have to wait much longer to secure their copy. The bigger question now is what exactly Rockstar is including in the Ultimate Edition and whether the additional content will justify the extra $20 asking price.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
