One of the most beloved Godzilla games of the early 2000s is making a comeback. Atari and original developer Pipeworks have announced Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, a modern revival of the 2002 arena fighter that first launched on GameCube before arriving on Xbox a year later. The remaster is set to release on November 3 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

The original game earned a cult following thanks to its straightforward monster-on-monster combat, destructible cities, and roster of classic Toho kaiju. The remastered version aims to preserve that formula while introducing enhanced visuals, quality-of-life improvements and online multiplayer support for the first time.

Players will be able to choose from 12 playable kaiju and battle across eight locations, including real-world cities, Monster Island and the Alien Mothership. Each arena will feature day and night variations while an updated progression system will allow players to unlock monsters, stages and gallery content in any order they choose.

Local multiplayer is also returning, giving longtime fans a chance to relive the couch battles that helped make the original release a favorite among Godzilla enthusiasts. New online multiplayer options will accompany the classic modes.

The remaster arrives at a time when interest in the King of the Monsters remains high, and for many players, it represents the return of a game that has been difficult to access on modern platforms for more than two decades. Developed once again by Pipeworks, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is currently available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its November launch.
