Gears of War is one of the most anticipated games of the year according to many and is on the list of many people’s must play list. I’m not sure what to think about game because I have not played the previous entries of the game and skipped the Ultimate Edition because of the port problems. Maybe this might be the right time to enter the franchise. Who knows. Anyways, let’s talk about the system requirements and what I think about it:
Minimum Requirements:
CPU- Intel Core i5-3470/ AMD FX- 6300
GPU- Nvidia GTX 750Ti/ AMD Radeon R7 260X
RAM- 8 GB
Storage- 80 GB
‘Wow!’ was my first reaction when I saw this, because apart from the GPU requirements everything else is comparitively mid-ranged. An i5-3470, which performs almost as good as the i5-2500. That will give you an idea of how much this game requires the CPU power, which must be somewhat closer Witcher 3 and the i5-3470 is a considerably powerful CPU even today while the GTX 750Ti is almost a dead GPU. The R7 260X performs on almost the same level as the GTX 750 Ti and maybe, the game will be optimized for both the teams. 8 GB of RAM is somewhat general these days. The storage is a whopping 80 GB, but well it isn’t the most surprising considering that Quantum Break’s offline experience was 120 GB in total.
As for lower PC specs, I think a majority of the newer lower end cards may be able to handle it. The minimum requirements of a GTX 750Ti is for 1080p and hence bringing it down to 900p or 720p will make the game manageable for most cards except the extremely low tier cards or maybe integrated graphics. As for the processor, if you have a second or third gen i3, you might face some lags during CPU intensive moments, but a sixth generation i3 may not cause much of a problem.
Recommended Requirements:
CPU- Intel i5 4690 3.5 GHz / AMD FX-8350 4 GHz
GPU- Nvidia GTX 970 or GTX 1060/ AMD Radeon RX 480
RAM- 8 GB
Storage- 80 GB HDD
The recommended requirements are fairly moderate and are not sky high and according to the Nvidia site these specs are for 2K resolution gaming, and something that we have come to expect in this generation of consoles. Can’t say much about the recommended specs, we’ll have to wait and see. Though I seriously don’t understand the reason for having an SSD at 2K resolutions.
Ideal Requirements:
CPU- Intel i7 4790 4GHz / AMD FX-9590 4 GHz
GPU- Nvidia GTX 980 Ti or GTX 1080/ AMD Radeon R9 FuryX
RAM- 16 GB
Storage- SSD and 80 GB
These are requirements for the 4K settings and it’s not surprising, considering the recommended requirements. In an Instagram post though, Nvidia has shown GOW 4 running on 4K on the GTX 1070. It was an image and hence neither the fps nor the settings are known, also I would like to point out that the system specs other than the GTX 1070 were not known. Here the SSD makes sense because 4K requires some high end hardware right now.

As I said I dunno what to feel about the game, but what do you guys think about the system requirements? Let us know in the comments below.
