gamescom 2020: IGN, Webedia, and Geoff Keighley to produce the show formats of this year’s gamescom
After the cooperation between Geoff Keighley and gamescom had already been decided upon, IGN and Webedia Deutschland are two more production partners of gamescom 2020. As a result, the English gamescom studio will be presented from 27 to 30 August by IGN and will provide an extensive program on a daily basis. Here, game developers will be interviewed and exclusive demos shown or influencers asked about the most important news. The German edition of the gamescom studio will be produced from 27 to 30 August by Webedia Germany and will show an exciting and varied program of analyses, live interviews, news, and much more each day.
This year, in addition to the gamescom: Opening Night Live, produced by Geoff Keighley, more show formats will be added to present a stimulating and exciting gamescom 2020 to the global community:
– gamescom: Daily Show (English, Friday + Saturday): the well-known host, Michael Swaim, will present the highlights of the gamescom day and the diversity of the gaming world in the show produced by IGN. He will discuss themes like cosplay, e-sports and much more in interesting discussions and coax a lot of news out of his discussion partners.
– gamescom: Daily Show (German, Friday + Saturday): produced by Webedia Germany, the show will also deal with the diversity of the gaming world and the highlights of the day. Current themes and trends will be discussed with exciting discussion partners and new products presented.
– gamescom: Awesome Indies (English, Saturday), produced by IGN, puts a spotlight on some of the most original and exciting games coming out of the indie developer scene. Viewers receive insight into the latest games, trends, and developments of the scene in exciting interviews and discussions with developers and influencers. There is an opportunity to play, to take part in contests, and to celebrate together with the best of the best from the indie world.
– The gamescom: Best Of Show (English, Sunday) is produced by IGN and is the spectacular show concluding gamescom 2020. We present the highlights of the entire gamescom here. The cosplay competition takes place as the big finale in this context, and the gamescom award will also be presented.
The content will be produced at several studio locations in the USA and Germany, from which studio and show guests, among others, will be received and broadcast. All “official partners” of gamescom have the opportunity to become part of the shows. This will be possible with exclusive content through editorial channels or by booking the advertising slots available for every show.
The show content will be available globally at the gamescom now content hub at www.gamescom.global , as well as on all channels of the partners worldwide, the gamescom app, and other platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, and facebook. This year’s program of the gamescom shows and the gamescom studios can be found at www.gamescom.global , under gamescom now.
