In the latest ‘State of Development’ update, Epic Games announced that Fortnite’s PvE mode is undergoing radical changes before the big Free-to-Play update. However, the big condition laid down was that the update was not coming anytime in 2018.

The game will be receiving updates to the UI to improve polish and also to make it more appealing to the players. The game will also feature a new, more flexible Hero system, replacing the older one. An investment refund feature allows players to de-level when major changes are done to schematics, heroes, survivors, defenders or any other items which players have invested on, so that players never feel that the hours they invested in the game are in vain.

The Special Halloween event sees players revisit last year’s Vlad Moon Rising questline, with some minor changes to make it more welcoming for new players. Owners of the PvE pack will get to own the Braniac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez skins for free for logging in during the Halloween event, also called Fortnitemares. Starting this week, there will be a 50% off sale for the Standard, Deluxe, Super Deluxe and Limited Founder’s packs, to encourage more people to stand against the zombie menace.

Epic Games had earlier promised to make the PvE content free for everyone “sometime in 2018”, but from the looks of it, that is not going to happen.
