Being a Ubisoft game, For Honor is one of the most anticipated games of 2017 and with it’s upcoming beta for all 3 platforms- PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Ubisoft have revealed the System Requirements for the game on PC.

Minimum Specs

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-550 | AMD Phenom II X4 955 or equivalent
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660/GTX 750ti/GTX 950/GTX 1050 with 2 GB VRAM or more | AMD Radeon HD 6970/HD 7870/R9 270/R9 370/RX 460 with 2 GB VRAM or more
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Resolution: 720p @ 30 FPS
  • Video Preset: Low
  • VSync: Off

An i3-550 is a dual core processor and if you are rocking any modern dual core processor like the Pentium G series or some older mid ranged dual core processor, you’ll do just fine with the game and this also means that the game will not be CPU intensive. As for the GPU, a GTX 660 has been the standard GPU that you’ll find in 95% of the games this generation. The minimum system requirements do not look demanding until you reach the part where ‘720p 30 FPS on Low Preset’ is written. To put this in perspective, a HD 7770 (Which was the equivalent of GTX 650 back then) ran Witcher 3 at 900p 30 fps with almost all settings set to High or Ultra. As for the GTX 660, it could maintain an average of 40 fps on 900p almost Ultra settings and as far as I remember, the GTX 660 was the minimum requirement for a 1080p resolution. So the minimum requirements are not as low as you might think, at least as far as the GPU part goes.

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K | AMD FX-6350 or equivalent
  • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 680/GTX 760/GTX 970/GTX 1060 with 2 GB VRAM or more | AMD Radeon R9 280X/R9 380/RX 470 with 2 GB VRAM or more
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Resolution: 1080p @ ~60 FPS
  • Video Preset: High
  • VSync: Off

As for the recommended requirements, again, the processor is not much of an issue. Any modern i5 will run the game just fine. The recommended GPUs, being Ubisoft, have some of the mid-higher ranged cards for playing games at High, not even Ultra 60 fps. And their GPU lineup seems pretty weird- GTX 680, GTX 760, GTX 970 and then GTX 1060, pretty uneven choice, especially the GTX 760. The AMD side seems somewhat consistent with pretty even performance differences. As for the rest of the requirements, it seems pretty moderate and will not be a problem if you have built a decent PC in the past 3-5 years.

Also For Honor will be the first game to support PS4 controller natively for the PC. I am not sure how that is going to work, especially because we have heard nothing about UPlay supporting the DualShock 4, rather it was Steam who proposed the idea first. Interestingly, Steam controller has been included in one of the controllers that will require third party drivers.

Note- We still don’t know the HDD requirements of the game.

I am personally expecting an inconsistent port after seeing these requirements. I could be wrong, but the last time I had predicted the same, it was for No man’s Sky. What are your thoughts about the system requirements? Let us know in the comments below.
