During the PC Gamer Show at E3, developer Fatshark fulfilled their promise and announced that versus mode is coming to Warhammer: Vermintide 2.
Versus mode is a 4v4 Versus mode where one team gets to play as the special Skaven and Rotblood enemy types, working together to defeat the Ubersreik 5. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Versus is a standalone game mode. Whilst players who own Vermintide 2 might get some special unlocks in Versus, there is no deeper crossover between the two titles. If you don’t like PvP, you absolutely don’t have to play it and you can glaze over it safe in the knowledge that the co-op game you know and love is still seeing development from the Vermintide 2 team as before.
“The player has always been the hero of the game, but in the Versus mode, players will now be able to play as the enemy factions.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark. “Versus is a competitive game mode where two separate teams of four players take turns playing as the enemies and heroes.”
