Dust 2 probably is one of the most iconic, if not the most iconic map ever made for an online competitive shooter. Millions of matches have been played on Dust 2 including the ones that were in the pro leagues.
This morning (According to IST), news came out that Dust 2 had been removed from the Active Duty group. There was somewhat of an uproar in the Indian community about it, because yeah, “Dust 2 me to hum pero hai, pero (We are pros in Dust 2)” has become the mentality of a majority of gamers. In a small update of about 80 MB, people had been left dumbfounded.
Well to be honest, this had been going around in rumors after Inferno was removed from active duty group. Now we are pretty sure that Valve will be reworking the Dust 2 map, just like they did for Inferno. Maybe a hit to the fps of the game? Who knows.
Players can still play Dust 2, and it still has the least expected waiting time for matchmaking, but gamers will try to follow the trend and finally get to explore the other maps in CSGO. More about the update can be read here.
