At the recent Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017 in Tokyo, Square Enix announced that they are developing Dragon Quest Builders 2 for PS4 and Switch. Acting as a sequel to the Minecraft-inspired 2016 original on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, this one improves upon the first by introducing several new features like:
- Being able to create slopes
- Underwater exploration
- Ability to glide off high places
- Fill high places with water
- Create waterfalls
- Improves limit to stacking items
- 4 player online co-op
The game takes place in Alfegard, where the first Dragon Quest game took place, and acts as an alternate ending to its plot.
