Bandai Namco has finally uploaded a new trailer showing off in-game footage and some gameplay snippets of their upcoming vampiric RPG, Code Vein. Developed by Shift (the team behind the God Eater series), Vein takes place in a post apocalyptic world with humanity being replaced by vampires as a measure to survive the Thorns Of Judgement, a calamity that resulted in the destruction of mankind.
Running on Unreal Engine 4, the the character design looks like something right out of an anime while the environment visuals lend a drab yet vibrant tone to the game’s atmosphere. The combat seems to draw heavily from Shift’s own God Eater series especially with the melee weapons that latch onto an enemy to suck their souls (similar to God Eater’s signature Devour mechanic) as well as a touch of FromSoft’s Dark Souls games.
Still no word on what platforms the game will appear on, but the game is set for a 2018 release.
Nice!!…
