Remember all those fan-art and supposedly leaked images of Assassin’s Creed based in China way back when Asssasin’s Creed 2 was a hit. If not you can check out some of the awesome fan-art and deviants in the gallery below.
Ok now for the news. Taking a cue from all those awesome images Ubisoft have finally announced Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China.
This 2.5 D sidescroller will be set in China, and will feature Shao Jun, the last remaining assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood—and a student of Assassin Creed 2’s Ezio Auditore(some may remember her from the Animated Movie : Assassin’s Creed Embers) in a completely new story of the Assassin’s Creed universe.
There is a catch however (like it always is) and that is that this mode will only be available to Season Pass owners of Assassin’s Creed Unity.
That’s not all, each Season Pass owner will also have access to an exclusive campaign known as the Dead Kings Campaign. The Dead Kings Campaign take place after the main game. It is set in Saint Denis, where the French royal family is buried and where a lot of plundering is taking place. Arno, will be getting a new weapon, called Guillotine gun as well as new gear, skills and outfits. Here is a bad-ass gif the Season Pass DLC cover.
Till now, I was of the opinion that Assassin’s Creed Rogue was the more interesting of the 2 Assassin’s Creed games releasing this year. But these Season Pass bonuses are insane, and while I do feel that the normal “just-buy-the-game-NO-DLC-for-me” gamers are being ripped off here, I think these are really attractive offers and will surely help Ubisoft rack up some Season Passes.
What do you think of Assassin’s Creed finally conquering China? Should this game be a Season Pass exclusive? Should Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China be even considered a worthy entry (considering its a 2.5 D side scroller).
While you mull over those questions, here is the trailer announcing the Season Pass exclusive content for Assassin’s Creed Unity.
