AMD today unveiled the Radeon VII, the world’s first 7nm gaming graphics card.

The Radeon VII packs 3840 stream processors running at 1.8 GHz along with 60 compute units. The best possible feature is possibly the 16GB amount of VRAM with a bandwidth of 1 TB/s. The Radeon VII is built on the Vega architecture, meaning that the card sports HBM2 memory in place of GDDR6 memory.

The Radeon VII is approximately 25% faster than the Radeon Vega 64 in video games, going as much as 35% faster in games like Battlefield V. The Radeon VII is estimated to be 10% faster than the RTX 2080 in DX11/12 games. As expected, the Radeon VII has a greater advantage in Vulkan titles like Strange Brigade and DOOM over the RTX 2080. There is no mention of ray tracing support on the Radeon VII, so the RTX 2080 obviously has the advantage there.

The Radeon VII will be available for a price of $699 from February 7 from leading retailers.
