In a post by PCOnline, a promising leak from a board partner has confirmed that the AMD Polaris based GPUs will be launching in mid-October.

The Polaris refresh features the new Polaris 30 GPU core. The successor for the RX 570 is likely to have 2048 cores (same as the RX 570) with better clock speeds, which means that the new GPU will be slightly faster than the RX 570. The RX 580 successor will feature 2304 cores (same as the RX 580) with improved clock speeds.

The new GPUs will likely cost the same as the RX 570 and the RX 580  but will sport higher clock speeds and will be more energy efficient.

In a polarized market where NVIDIA’s new GPUs isn’t a very attractive choice for the budget consumer, AMD’s renewed entry into the market can mean some decent competition in the mainstream market before the arrival of NVIDIA’s budget Turing GPUs.
