Following the larger success of Ryzen and the B350 motherboards, AMD officially announces the B450 chipset for next gen Ryzen PCs. The B450 can support all processors from the Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 families, as well as the newer Ryzen APUs and all older processors with the AM4 socket. The chief selling point for the motherboards continue to be the promise for support for all future Ryzen architectures.

The B450 has all the features the old gen B350 motherboards had, but it also comes packed with some sweet new optimizations which allow the motherboard to make maximum use of those high frequency RAMs.

One of the best features of the B450 series is the StoreMI technology, which allows users to combine the power of multiple storage and strike the balance between transfer speeds and capacity economically.

The B450 has a reduced number of USB and SATA ports, and it also drops the support for multiple GPUs. However, it has all the memory and CPU overclocking features sported by the enthusiast X470 series, which is one of the key features where it scores over Intel.

Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI, ASRock and Biostar are some of the brands to watch out for if you intend to buy a B450 motherboard. ASUS and MSI B450 motherboards are already retailing on several popular e-tailing sites like MD Computers, Vedant Computers, PrimeABGB and TheITDepot. Gigabyte haven’t announced their prices yet.
