After the success of the Switch, Nintendo might have a new ‘upgraded’ version in the works which it plans to release in 2019. The Switch sold close to 20 million units in roughly 18 months, and Nintendo wants to maintain its impressive sales trajectory.
According to the Wall Street Journal, several ‘suppliers’ and ‘others with direct knowledge of the plan’ claim to have confirmed the release. However, an exact release date has not been revealed.
There are several ways Nintendo could upgrade the Switch – improving the display, revamping the storage capacity and extending the battery life are a few changes that might be in consideration.
If the rumors are true, then the new Switch might hit the market as early as Q2 2019.
