With $25,000 on the line for 28 teams across 5 countries, APL Esports got an exciting month in store for Rocket League fans.

APL Esports, Asia’s independent Rocket League tournament organizer today announced APL Nationals, a Psyonix-sponsored Rocket League tournament for 5 countries in Asia. After hosting last year’s The Kickoff, APL Esports is inviting teams from Saudi Arabia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, and India to take part in the event. With 28 teams across 5 countries chasing after a total prize pool of $25,000, the qualifiers for APL Nationals are set to start on March 7, 2020.

Last May, we were thrilled to bring Asia and the Middle East’s first-ever, Psyonix-sponsored event to life when we announced The Kickoff. Now we’re finally ready to announce our next event: the APL Nationals. Signups are now open, so get your team together and secure your spot in the qualifiers!

Format

The APL Nationals are five separate events, each taking place for a different country. The format for each country is as follows:

Saudi Arabia & Japan:
● Two invited teams, six qualified teams (for a total of eight teams)
● Four teams qualify through the Qualifier
● Two teams qualify through the Last Chance Qualifier
● Teams are split into two double-elimination groups
● The top four teams from the Group Stage qualify for the double-elimination
playoff bracket
● All Group Stage matches are Best-of-5 and all playoff matches are Best-of-7, including a bracket reset

Indonesia & Singapore:
● Four teams, all through the Main Qualifier
● Double-elimination bracket
● All matches are Best-of-5 until the grand final, which is Best-of-7 (the team
coming from the upper bracket starts the Grand Final with a 1-0 lead)

India:
● Four teams, all through the Main Qualifier
● Single-elimination bracket
● Semifinals are Best-of-5, the Grand Final is Best-of-7

Note: Each qualifier is a double-elimination bracket.

Prize Pool:

The prize pool for each event is as follows (prize money distribution can be found in the ruleset):

● Saudi Arabia: $8,000
● Japan: $8,000
● Indonesia: $3,500
● Singapore: $3,500
● India: $2,000

The dates for each National is as follows:

Saudi Arabia:
● March 12th, 5pm KSA – Qualifier
● March 19th, 5pm KSA – Last Chance Qualifier
● March 26th, 7pm KSA – Group Stage
● April 2nd, 7pm KSA – Playoffs

Japan:
● March 13th, 6pm JST – Qualifier
● March 20th, 6pm JST – Last Chance Qualifier
● March 27th, 7pm JST – Group Stage
● April 3rd, 7pm JST – Playoffs

Indonesia:
● March 21st, 5pm WIB – Qualifier
● March 28th, 7pm WIB – Finals
Singapore:
● March 7th, 5pm SGT – Qualifier
● March 14th, 7pm SGT – Finals

India:
● April 10th, 5pm IST – Qualifier
● April 11th, 7pm IST – Finals

Streams:

We’re excited to announce that, on top of being broadcast on our own Twitch channel, the APL Nationals will also be streamed by community event organisers and figures from around the Asian and Middle Eastern scenes. We’ll be announcing where these streams will be taking place in the near future, so make sure you stay tuned to our social media! With just over three weeks until the first qualifier, the stage is set for a thrilling month of Nationals.
