The highly anticipated 2.0 patch and a standalone expansion titled Prophecy was originally supposed to hit today for Neocore’s ARPG Warhammer 40K- Inquisitor: Martyr. However, the developers just announced that both the patch and the expansion has been delayed to provide a more polished experience for the community.

According to their new updated roadmap, Patch 2.0 will hit on June 20, while Inquisitor – Prophecy will arrive on July 30.

In the meantime, Neocore has assembled an in-depth compendium containing all the new features coming with the update, including all the new mechanics, items, and more, so you can see what’s coming in Patch 2.0.

About the 2.0 Patch

Martyr was released for on PC June 18th, 2018 with mixed reception from critics and players alike. In my review of Martyr, I gave the game a not-so-impressive 6/10 but noted that with further updates, this could be a competent ARPG. The 2.0 update is aiming to be just that.

The 2.0 update will rework pretty much every aspect of the game including combat, progression, loot system, co-op, and endgame. According to the developers, the aim of the patch is to “elevate Martyr’s qualities to be more in-line with the traditions of the ARPG genre”.

Here is an overview of what to expect from Martyr 2.0:

– Faster, smoother gameplay experience for all three playable classes
– Progression system rebuilt from scratch
– Level cap increased from 80 to 100
– Story Campaign, Seasons 1 & 2 are now playable in online co-op (2-4 players)
– Expanded and revised loot system (new item tier, new item types, new enchants)
– Expanded and revised crafting
– New end-game modes
– Other quality of life improvements
-And many more

About the Prophecy Expansion

Warhammer 40K- Inquisitor: Prophecy is a stand-alone expansion pack for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr. It is a brand new action-RPG experience in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and although Inquisitor – Martyr is not required to play, the story is designed to fit both for new and for returning players.

New Class: Play as a Tech-Adept Inquisitor. Summon and enhance units to help defeat enemies and complete investigations. This new summoner class comes with new unique abilities and mechanics, a unique skill-tree and various new melee and ranged builds.

New Campaign: The story of Inquisitor – Martyr continues in three new chapters, with one chapter solely focusing on the Tech-Adept, as its story slowly ties into the main plot.

New Environments: Players can discover huge monasteries, hazardous factories, unforgiving deserts and ruthless worlds engulfed by lava and volcanoes.

New Enemy Races: Inquisitor – Prophecy adds the Eldar and the Tyranids as new enemy races.

New Gameplay Mechanics: Inquisitor – Prophecy will be based on Inquisitor – Martyr’s 2.0 update, bringing the base game’s new level cap, redesigned loot-system and leveling, its new end-game, the co-op campaign mode, new items and a much faster, ARPG-focused gameplay to the stand-alone expansion as well.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Prophecy will be available for $24.99, while those who already own a copy of Inquisitor – Martyr receive -30% off of their purchase for a limited time.
