The Texas rattlesnake, the hell raiser, Stone Cold Steve Austin has been announced as the cover athelete for WWE 2K16. If you are psyched for this news, give me a hell yeah.
Apart from being a WWE Hall of Famer, and former WWE world champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin is also argubaly the most popular WWE superstar ever. He was pivotal during the WWE Attitude Era, and his rivalries with Rock, HHH, Undertaker, HBK and Bret Hart has been some of the most exciting ever.
Steve Austin replaces John Cena, who was on the cover for WWE 2K15. Ever since WWE’12 (by THQ) WWE games have featured cover athletes. This has included superstars such as Randy Orton, CM Punk, The Rock, John Cena. So Austin is in a pretty honorable bracket here (like he always is).

WWE 2K16 will feature the biggest WWE roster as confirmed by 2K games. The development team confirmed that there would be 120 unique, playable, non-DLC characters. As to what game modes will be available, we don’t know. But I think it would be a fair guess, to say that the Showcase mode would return, along with the standard WWE Universe mode. Personally I would love to see some improvements in the WWE Create a Superstar mode, but we can only hope so much.
Let us know what you think of WWE 2K16 new cover artist. And are you ready to raise some hell.
