Gamers! What better way to start the New Year than with India Gaming Show! The video games extravaganza organised by CII is making its way back, after a successful first year. The 2018 edition will be known as the India Gaming Show South and it will take place in Bangalore, Karnataka at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center from 19-21 January 2018. Like its predecessor, the India Gaming Show South will shine the spotlight on the video gaming industry in the country as well as the region.
Introduced in 2017 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, in association with NODWIN Gaming, the India Gaming Show aims at energising the video games sector in the country. This year, the event takes place in the technological hub of the country, Bangalore and promises to unlock a new level for the gaming industry.
The three-day event will play host to multiple conferences, panel discussions, activations, launches and much more. An exhibition will also run alongside and will feature stalls by leading game publishers and peripheral manufacturers such as Konami, Sony, GIGABYTE, HyperX and others. This will allow visitors access to premium experience zones, merchandise, gaming peripherals as well as new developments in the field of video games.
One of the many highlights of the India Gaming Show South will be the Esports Showcase Arena. For those who do not know, Esports is competitive gaming with the flair of traditional sports. According to latest reports by gaming research firm, SuperData, the global esports market is valued at a whopping $1.5 billion. India has a big part to play in the future of esports given the demographic advantage the country possess. Fostering the development of esports in the country, is an indigenous company, NODWIN Gaming. Finally, on the newer side of things is the North East Esports Championship, which is an up and coming competitive gaming tournament focused on developing and promoting a sustainable esports environment in the 8 northeastern Indian states.
This is also an opportunity for enthusiasts and fans to interact with the persons behind the esports phenomena in the country. NODWIN Gaming’s MD, Akshat Rathee will be present at the event, he will be accompanied by Anup Dustakar and Aditya Shah, who directly overlook the progress of the different competitive gaming projects. Similarly, visitors can also meet and greet top players and teams in the country including, the winner of the KO Fight Night 2017, Bhagwant “B3” Bagh, who also participated in the Brooklyn Beatdown tournament in New York, USA.
