The next stage in the saga of Kharaa-infected planet 454B continues with Subnautica Below Zero, which is now available for purchase on Steam in Early Access. Below Zero is released as a separate Early Access title, rather than being a DLC to Subnautica.
The launch trailer shows ice – lots of it, along with some penguins making their way on the smooth ice. A big creature, likely an apex predator, with a heated horn on its face is seen breaking the ice in the end. Also, the protagonist in Below Zero looks to be different from the one in Subnautica. The game will also feature new vehicles, which likely includes a snowmobile, as seen in the trailer.
The game is available for purchase on Steam, and will make its way to consoles on a later date.
