We reported the other day that renowned developer and publisher Starbreeze Studios would be undergoing a period of reconstruction following a financial scuffle (thanks in no small parts to Overkill’s The Walking Dead). As it turns out, things don’t stop just there.
According to SVD, Starbreeze’s offices have been raided by Swedish Authorities, leading to at least one arrest on suspicion of insider trading. Along with the arrest, several pieces of equipment such as computers and documents have been seized by the police.
Starbreeze offered the following statement to Game Industry. “This morning officials from the Swedish Economic Crime Authority raided the offices of Starbreeze in Stockholm. One person was arrested and items were seized. The raid is part of an ongoing investigation involving suspected insider trading.”
Starbreeze also says that the company itself is not under any suspicion and it cooperating with the authorities.
