Dark Light

Without you, will the forest still come alive?

Kickstarted in 2015, Shape of the World – the upcoming first-person explorer from developer Hollow Tree Games previously announced for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 – is also coming to Nintendo Switch.

First-person explorer. You’re cast as an outsider in a surreal organic world that reacts to your presence. Travel at your own pace through a relaxing and psychedelically colorful ecosystem of flourishing flora, rambling waterfalls, burgeoning mountains, glowing monoliths and graceful creatures.

Shape of the World is an exploration game where a rich and colorful world grows around you, a relaxing interactive escape about getting yourself pleasantly lost. Your presence is the driving force behind the procedurally populated environment as you amble through dream-like forests, aquatic caves and peaceful shores.

Games features:

  • Laid-back, relaxing exploration: No ticking clock or perils laying in wait will prevent you from enjoying your journey here.
  • An organic and mysterious ecosystem to play with: Interacting with graceful animals, ephemeral flora, and intriguing monoliths alter the world in vibrant and unexpected ways.
  • Procedural population: The forest only materializes around you when you get close, regrowing in a new way each time you pass. What will you find when you retrace your steps?
  • A dynamic soundtrack that responds to the player’s travels: The audio shifts along with the visuals, providing an enveloping aural and immersive experience.

Test the game at GDC and PAX East:

Shape of the World will be testable at GDC where we’re thrilled to be a part of the Indie MEGABOOTH showcase! You can also get your hands on the game at PAX East this year, again as part of the Indie MEGABOOTH.
