Charity comes from the oddest of places sometimes, and often, from places we least expect it. Last May, Blizzard had offered to donate the proceeds from the sale of an Overwatch skin to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The skin referred to here is the ‘Pink Mercy’ skin, which was priced at 15$. All proceeds, which totaled to $12.7 million when collection was done, would go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Thank you, heroes!

“BCRF does critical work every single day to support women’s health and develop new research and strategies for preventing, treating, and curing breast cancer, and we’re proud to make this contribution to their efforts,” Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said.
“I’m grateful to all of the Overwatch players around the world who made supporting such a good cause possible with their enthusiasm for the game and their generosity.”
Despite being a virtual character, Mercy fulfilled her role as the shining star in the battle against breast cancer. Overwatch should not have disbanded, after all.
