A few days ago, the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account seemed to be hinting at something rather strange. With references to a “mysterious signal” and an “anomaly,”.
Turns out that they were indeed teasing the fact that Outriders will be available on Console and Android phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass on day one!
Yes, you heard that right, Outriders, that Square Enix looter that arrives April 1. Available with Xbox Game Pass on Day 1.
Like most things in life however, there is a catch. For eg. this is only for Xbox Game Pass for console/xCloud phones and tablets, not PC, so you will still need to buy the game on Steam or the Epic Game Store to play on PC.
Also if you had already pre-ordered the game, and now those plans are changing after this news, you will have to manually cancel your pre-order.
guess we gotta add a new reason to the list of reasons to never pre-order: Game Pass may buy a game launch with two weeks to go!

There’s also the issue of where players played the demo, which carries over progress to the final game, but does not have cross save. It’s easy to see a situation where someone may have played on PC and grinded out four characters and a bunch of legendaries, only to see the game go “free” on Xbox. To change their mind now, they’d lose all that demo grinding time.
But for everyone who was looking forward to play Outriders on Xbox Series S|X or through Xbox Cloud this is pretty dope news.
