Dark Light

Shadow of War was just announced today, and people are seriously excited for the game, including myself. The system requirements of the game have been detailed on the Steam Store page, and here we take a look at them:

MINIMUM:

    • OS: Windows 7 SP1 with Platform Update for Windows 7
    • Processor: Intel i5- 2550K, 3.4 GHz
    • Memory: 8 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce 670 | Radeon HD 7950
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Network: Broadband Internet connection
    • Storage: 60 GB available space

As usual, we see an i5 2nd gen being the minimum CPU requirement, 8 Gigs of RAM, a GTX 670/HD 7950, DX11 and 60 Gigs of hard disk. A 6th gen i3 will be able to handle the game for 30 fps, and any decent modern card with a DDR5 type memory will work just find. I would say that, if you have something like a GTX 650 or HD 7770, you’ll be just fine by taking the resolution down to 720p or 900p.

RECOMMENDED:

    • OS: Windows 10 version 14393.102 or higher required
    • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.4 GHz
    • Memory: 16 GB RAM
    • Graphics: GeForce 970 or GeForce 1060 | Radeon R9 290X or Radeon RX 480
    • DirectX: Version 11
    • Storage: 60 GB available space

For the recommended specs we are looking at an i7-3770 and no AMD equivalent for some reason, 16 Gigs of RAMand coming to the most valued part, the GPU, you’ll be requiring a GTX 1060 (Or 970) from Nvidia’s side or an RX 480 (Or R9 290X) from AMD. Nothing surprising to be honest, and you could do away with a GTX 1050Ti or RX 470 by chipping some settings off and get 60 fps with a perfect balance between visuals and fps. As for the CPU, I think an overclocked i5 will do just fine to net you 60 fps.

So what do you think about the requirements? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. I have the 6GB 1060 and 16GB’s ram so I should be fine, hopefully my FX8350 will hold up, it’s getting a bit old.
