After years of fan requests, Microsoft has announced that many more of their upcoming games, including the highly anticipated Gears 5 and definitive editions of Age of Empires 1-3 will be coming to Steam.

In the words of Phil Spencer,

“Our intent is to make our Xbox Game Studios PC games available in multiple stores, including our own Microsoft Store on Windows, at their launch. We believe you should have choice in where you buy your PC games.

We also know that there are other stores on PC, and we are working to enable more choice in which store you can find our Xbox Game Studios titles in the future.”

That right there looks like a jab at Epic Games and their forced exclusivity deals. Oh, Phill…

We already knew that Halo: The Masterchief collection was coming to Steam this year and this just made us even more happy as Microsoft Store isn’t something PC gamers are keen on using.

Microsoft has also announced Xbox Game Pass for the PC. Xbox Game Pass will have more than 100 games and Microsoft is working with 75 PC developers and publishers, including Bethesda, Deep Silver, Devolver, Paradox Interactive, and SEGA.
