[UPDATE]- We have updated the article based on the recently released official requirements.

Mafia 3 will be hitting the PC come October 7, 2016 (along with PS4, and Xbox One). The single player action adventure will be set in 1968 and follow the life of Lincoln Clay, an orphan and a Vietnam War veteran, who is on a quest to build a new crime organization to confront the Italian mob in the city of New Bordeaux.

All that is fine and dandy but the important question is, will you be able to run this game? Let’s find out.

Minimum Mafia 3 System Requirements:

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7 64-bit
INTEL CPU: I5-2500K
AMD CPU: AMD FX-8120
RAM: 6GB
AMD GPU: Radeon HD7870
NVIDIA GPU: GeForce GTX 660
VIDEO MEMORY: 2GB
HDD: 50GB (free space)

It is not a surprise to see a AAA game with such requirements, even for 1080p. As for the requirements of this game, they do look a bit towards the upper end of the budget spectrum. An Intel i5-2500K is a pretty old processor and practically any modern i3, will perform just fine. As for 6 GB of RAM, again it is standard, in fact most systems today have 8 or 16 GB of RAM. 50 GB is an average amount of space these days in recent AAA titles. As for the GPU requirements, which is the main issue for many PC gamers, both AMD and Nvidia cards are pretty low-mid/mid ranged and alternatives such as the GTX 950/RX 460 (Which provide almost the same  can be found for about 12-14K INR in the market. The GTX 660/HD 7870 are evenly matched and I think this game will be optimized for both sides. As for resolutions lower than 1080p, like 900p, I think a GT 840 and for 720p will probably work on GT 830 with settings turned to low.

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 7 64-bit
INTEL CPU: I7-3770
AMD CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0 Ghz
RAM: 8 GB AMD
AMD GPU: Radeon R9 290X
NVIDIA GPU: GeForce GTX 780 or GeForce GTX 1060
VIDEO MEMORY: 4GB
HDD: 50GB (free space)

The recommended requirements are significantly apart, but still fit into the category of Med/High-Mid ranged PCs. An i7-3770 is a quad core processor and may be required for gaming at ultra if there is a slider for background characters. The RAM again is fairly standard. As for the GPU, the requirements are pretty average for the recommended requirements of a game that will run on Ultra on either the GTX 780 or R9 290. One thing that rather surprises me though is that the recommended GPU on Nvidia’s side is GTX 780 which has 3 Gigs of RAM, but the recommeended VRAM is 4GB. Hmm…. Pretty surprising. Alternative you can get the GTX 970 which will perform roughly the same. These cards do not have much of a price difference from the cards at Minimum requirements coming in at 22-28K INR, which is a little above average these days.  All in all the requirements are average and if you went by playing most games in 2015, you’ll sure as hell be running this game like butter. And this proves many people wrong about upgrading a PC to always keep up with hardware tech.

Will your PC be able to handle Mafia 3? Let us know in the comments below. Adios amigos.
