The latest set of Intel’s processors, the 8th Generation code-named Coffee Lake have launched today for the laptops and will followed by tghe desktop counterparts this fall.
The 8th Gen Intel Core processor family supposedly delivers a more than 40 percent performance boost compared to 7th Gen, so that’s quite a huge jump and isn’t really unexpected considering they have upped the number of cores.
Intel is also claiming a 40% performance leap and a 2X boost over “5 year old PCs”. Yeah, I don’t get it, why do they compare something new to something 5 years old. This is the PC market where parts get outdated within months and we need information on how much better it performs relative to the previous generations.
We’ll report more on these processors when their desktop versions come out because they are more game centric than these initial laptop parts.
