We informed you last month that New Word Interactive’s Insurgency: Sandstorm will be releasing on September 18. Now, publisher Focus Home Interactive has announced that Insurgency: Sandstorm has been delayed to December 12th. According to the publisher, the extra time will allow developers to improve and polish their game, and make Sandstorm a stand-out title in the modern FPS genre.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is a team-based, tactical FPS based on lethal close quarters combat and objective-oriented multiplayer gameplay. Sequel to the indie breakout FPS Insurgency, Sandstorm is reborn, improved, expanded, and bigger in every way.

According to the publishers,

“While these beta tests confirmed the high quality of the core gameplay, the decision to delay the release is a direct response to technical feedback, and the desire to refine the game with more polished content and higher performance on PC. New community and online features will be available in the launch version, guaranteeing Insurgency will not only be a fantastic game, but also the true FPS experience fans are waiting for.”

We have no doubt that this minor delay will give us a more polished and technically sound experience.
