Dark Light

After teasing the name at The Game Awards last year, From Software finally unveiled its next Souls-style game set in the world of 1500s Sengoku Japan: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Shadows Die Twice is “a dark and twisted” single-player third-person, action-adventure samurai game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki – creator of the Souls series and Bloodborne. The game will put players into the role of “a hard-hearted warrior”, Sekiro (aka the “One-Armed Wolf), “whose mission is to rescue his master, a young lord, and exact revenge against his arch-nemesis”.

The protagonist appears to have a prosthetic arm that, as shown in the trailer, can transform itself into an axe or a grappling hook(!). Which means there are transversal mechanics in this game. You can also enjoy “combining new features including vertical traversal with visceral head-to-head battle”, according to From Software. And oh, did I mention there are some big-ass boss fights in this game? Nope? Well, there are huge bosses, monsters, and whatnot crammed into this game.

Shadows Die Twice is scheduled for an early 2019 release on PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). You can pre-order the game at select retailers for $60 USD (₹4,000 INR).

We will keep you updated when we receive more details. Stay tuned.
