North American esports organization Forward Gaming announces that they are officially shutting doors. All players currently playing for them will be released with immediate effect, and will become free agents till they sign a contract with some other organization. Unending financial woes mean that the organization could not pay the players their salaries for July as well as $36000 worth of prize money.

The organization mentions that all players, while released from their contracts, would be free to attend TI9 on their own. Apparently, all players had been informed about the decision to disband after the Epicenter major, where they were knocked out in the 9th place with prize money of $15000.

Forward Gaming didn’t exactly have a very decent run in any of the Majors. Their best Major performance was in ESL One Hamburg, where they were knocked out in 8th place. The team performed decently in Minors, however, with a win at the Qi Invitational.

It seems that the players will be attending TI9 on their own for a share of the gigantic prize pool (which has touched $300,000 recently).
